Introduction to Pranburi
Pranburi is a seaside town on the western coast of the Gulf of Thailand, some 30 kilometers south of Hua Hin. Pranburi features a peaceful environment and is located near Sam Roi Yod National Park and Pranburi Forest Park, which features a spectacular mangrove forest where a river flows into the sea. Unlike its neighbouring beaches, Pranburi Beach offers visitors its peace and tranquillity enabling guests to recharge their energy and uplift their spirits simply by lying down on a beach chair and listening to the waves crashing on the sand in a pristine environment with envigorating sea air.
Comfortably situated with the Gulf of Thailand’s crystalline waters in front and a lush green forest behind, the Blue Lotus Pranburi Care Centre is a quiet oasis on 20 acres nestled between two picturesque fishing villages. A very popular getaway in the natural area of Paknampran, the facility is located just three hours south of Bangkok.
Nearby attractions include the Klai Kangwon Palace, the Thai Royal family’s summer residence, and Wat Khao Takiap, a stunning Buddhist temple offering colourful shrines and scenic Gulf views. Less than an hour’s drive, the Pa La-U waterfalls feature a 16-level cascade set in a tropical rainforest teeming with exotic birds and butterflies.
For a unique experience, guests can visit Kui Buri National Park, the most exotic and recommended tour to see wild elephants in their natural habitat, just one hour away. The centre has daily recreational and sports activities whilst guests can relax at the award-winning Blue Lotus Well-being Spa, which offers signature treatments to help guests unwind.
From a touristic overview of Pran Buri, the town can be divided into 3 main areas, all within greater Pranburi. The first neighbourhood consists of the traditional fishing village of Pak Naam Pran and the long beachfront area stretching southward from Pak Naam Pran past Kao Kalok mountain, down to the new Pranburi Grand Marina.
In the middle of Pranburi, further inland, is the historic Pranburi area, which consists of traditional Thai-style wooden homes situated along the Pranburi River, and hosts the ever-popular 200-year-old weekend market.
And finally, the more commercial and modern area of Pranburi is located along the Petchkasem highway. These 3 areas are collectively known as Pranburi, which is also well known for its pineapple industry and squid fishing. The Pranburi area is also extremely popular with outdoor sports enthusiasts, especially cycling, cave exploring, trail runners, and the ever-popular kiteboarding.
